He was born in 22 August 1955 in Narasapuram, Godavari, Andra Pradesh, India. Early his named was Siva Shankaravaraprasad. He is a eledest son of Konidila Anjana Devi and Konidila Venkat Rao. He is a quite interested in acting in young age. He joined in a Madras Flim Institute in 1977. He started his acting career with Punadhirallu in 1978. He Awarded as Padma Bhoshan Honorary Doctarate from Andra Pradesh. He married to Surekha and Sudha and his chlidrens are Susmitha, Ram Charan, Sreeja.
